Breast Revision Costs: London vs Istanbul in Actual Pounds

£8–15k at home, £3–6k abroad — but only like-for-like comparisons mean anything. The honest arithmetic.

Price is why most UK patients first look abroad; confusion about what's inside each price is why some choose badly. Here's the comparison done properly.

What UK private revision actually quotes

For genuine revision (capsule work + exchange, not simple swap), UK private hospitals commonly quote £8,000–£15,000+, with complex cases above that — surgeon and anaesthetist fees, hospital, implants, follow-ups, often itemised separately. London sits at the top; regional cities somewhat under.

What the same operation costs in Istanbul

Like-for-like — a board-certified revision specialist, accredited hospital, consultant anaesthetist, current-generation CE-marked implants, overnight stay, transfers and structured aftercare — typically lands at 50–70% below the UK figure, quoted as one written, all-inclusive number after assessment. Add flights (~£150–£350 return) and a recovery-week hotel, and the total still clears thousands in savings.

Why the gap exists (and why it isn't quality)

Staffing costs, facility overheads and currency — the same reasons a hotel night costs less in Istanbul than in Chelsea. The implants are the same manufacturers; the anaesthesia machines don't know the exchange rate. The variable that actually determines your outcome is the surgeon — which is why verification, not price, deserves your research hours.

The comparisons that mislead

  • Package prices without a diagnosis: a quote issued before anyone knows your capsule status is fiction with a currency symbol.
  • Base prices with extras orbiting: ask any quote — UK or Turkish — what happens to the number if the surgeon finds more work needed.
  • Cheapest-possible anywhere: in revision specifically, the bottom of any market is where the rescue cases come from.

Send photos, get the named diagnosis, and compare real numbers for your actual operation — the only comparison worth making.
